Some 79 dual cab builds run aftermarket bucket seats that sit closer together than the factory setup. Others have rear passengers who regularly climb between the front seats. In both cases a full length console is too much footprint. A half length console gives you the padded armrest, the cup holders, and a useful storage compartment in a shorter package that does not run all the way back to the rear of the front seats. For dual cab owners who want the comfort gain without losing rear access, the half length is the right choice.
SAME BUILD AS FULL LENGTH, SHORTER FOOTPRINT
The half length consoles in this collection share the steel internal frame and marine-grade carpet or vinyl wrap construction of the full length range. The build quality is identical. Only the length is reduced, with the unit terminating forward of where a full length console would meet the front seat backs. The padded armrest is full size for proper elbow support at the right height. Two cup holders are integrated into the front section. A lockable storage compartment holds wallet, phone, sunglasses, and small daily items. Mounting uses factory floor anchor points without drilling.

The half length consoles fit the 79 dual cab from 2007 onwards across the VDJ V8 era and the GDJ facelift. Pre-2016 dual cab vehicles use a different front seat anchor specification to post-2016 vehicles, but the same half length console fits both as long as the right variant is ordered.
