ROOF CONSOLES FOR THE 70 SERIES
OVERHEAD STORAGE WHERE THE FACTORY LEFT THE ROOF BARE
The headlining above the front seats on a 70 Series is a flat empty surface. Toyota fitted dome lights and sun visors and not much else. A roof console adds a moulded overhead storage unit that fits between the visors with compartments for sunglasses, a UHF radio, spare keys, fuses, registration documents, and any other small items that need a permanent home. For touring builds, the roof console is the natural spot for the UHF mic and a cabin reading light. For work vehicles, it is where the day's job sheets and small tools live. The change is dramatic for a cabin that previously had no overhead organisation at all.
MOULDED ABS WITH FACTORY-LOOK FINISH
Each roof console in this collection is moulded from ABS with a textured finish matched to the factory headlining and trim colours. Compartments include lockable storage for valuables, an open shelf for sunglasses or a phone, a recessed UHF radio mounting position, and additional cubby holes for smaller items. Mounting uses sun visor brackets and additional supplied hardware that bolts to the roof structure without drilling into the outer skin. Cable routing through the headlining is straightforward for connecting a UHF radio or accessory light circuit.
SUITS 76, 78, AND 79 SERIES CABINS
Roof console fitment is matched to the specific cabin layout on the modern 70 Series body styles. The 76 Wagon, 78 Troop Carrier, and 79 single cab and dual cab use different roof heights and sun visor positions, so each body style has its own console option. VDJ V8 and GDJ facelift generations share most cabin dimensions for roof fitment. Each listing confirms exact body style and year range before you order. Pair with the overhead storage net for additional capacity if needed.
