70 SERIES LAND CRUISER ROOF RACKS BUILT FOR TOURING LOADS
PUT THE 70 SERIES ROOF TO WORK
70 Series Land Cruiser roof racks turn the empty space above the cab into a secure, accessible storage platform for everything that does not fit inside the cabin, tray, or cargo area. Roof top tents, awnings, solar panels, jerry cans, MAXTRAX recovery boards, swags, and long or bulky gear all go up on the rack where they are out of the way during the drive and easy to access when you stop. Whether you are building a touring rig, a work vehicle, or a weekend setup, a 70 Series roof rack is the foundation of any serious build. Front Runner Slimline II platforms and Outbound Industry molle panels are the two systems we run on most 70 Series rigs.
PLATFORM, CAGE, AND FULL-LENGTH OPTIONS
This 70 Series roof rack collection covers the full range of styles. Flat platform racks like the Front Runner Slimline II provide a clean, low-profile base with tie-down points for mounting accessories and strapping gear directly to the surface. Cage-style racks add raised edges that contain loose items. Full-length racks maximise the carrying area from windscreen to rear, while three-quarter and half-length options reduce wind noise and weight for owners who do not need the full roof covered. Construction is steel or 6061 aluminium with durable powder-coated finishes that handle years of sun, rain, and dust without deteriorating. Most racks mount to the factory rain channel or gutter rail with no drilling.
RACKS FOR 79 UTE, 78 TROOPY, AND 76 WAGON
The 79 Series ute, 78 Troop Carrier, and 76 Wagon all have different roof dimensions and mounting configurations, so each 70 Series roof rack is designed for the specific model it fits. The 78 Troopy has the longest roof and supports the largest racks, the 76 Wagon sits in the middle, and the 79 Series cab is the most compact. Racks are available for the VDJ V8 (2007 to 2023) and GDJ facelift (2024 onward) across all three bodies, and the roof dimensions are shared between both variants so racks usually fit both year ranges. Pair a roof rack with a rear ladder for safe access to gear, and consider how the rack will work with awnings, roof top tents, and lighting before you order.
