BONNET PROTECTORS FOR THE 1999 TO 2007 70 SERIES

THE PRE-V8 ERA THAT GETS FORGOTTEN BY GENERIC PROTECTORS

The 1999 to 2007 70 Series is the HZJ era ute, Troopy, and wagon era running the 1HZ diesel. The bonnet shape changed from the earlier 1984 to 1999 generation but is still different to the 2007 onwards VDJ V8 bonnet. That puts these vehicles in a fitment gap where a generic protector cut for the V8 era will not align properly. The bonnet protectors in this collection are moulded specifically for the HZJ-era bonnet, with the right leading-edge contour, mounting clip positions, and headlight cutout shape for the 1999 to 2007 production window.

TINTED ACRYLIC SHAPED FOR THE HZJ BONNET

Each protector is moulded from UV-stabilised impact-modified acrylic with a dark tinted finish. The tint hides bug splatter, dust, and minor surface marks while giving the front end a more aggressive look. UV stabilisation keeps the material from yellowing, cracking, or going brittle through years of Australian summers. The mould follows the exact contour of the HZJ78 and HZJ79 bonnet, which is slightly different in shape and length to both the earlier 75 Series and the later VDJ. Installation uses supplied hardware with no drilling into the bonnet panel.

SUITS HZJ78, HZJ79, AND OTHER 1999-2007 70 SERIES

This collection covers bonnet protectors for the HZJ78 Troop Carrier and HZJ79 single cab and dual cab built between August 1999 and January 2007. The same protector also fits the HZJ76 wagons of the era and the FZJ variants where the bonnet shape is shared. Each listing confirms exact body style, build date range, and engine code before you order. If your vehicle was built after January 2007 it runs the VDJ V8 bonnet and needs the 2007 to 2016 era protector instead.
